I'm not modern....never have been. I luv vintage....everything!I have never really enjoyed cooking....so I don't cook, my husband does. But...during a recent re-organization I found a fabulous cookbook I bought years ago called Satisfying Salads, just for the awesome graphice. I started a blog yesterday to journal my adventures making the vintage salads.
Some of the salads.....won't cut it for me~just too many "strange" ingredients...... So I won't be making them all.
Fast forward to today. Last week I bought some darling vintage style baskets for my kitchen up in Big Bear. This morning when I was re-doing everything I found another fabulous vintage cookbook called Modern Meal Maker by Martha Meade.
I luv....this cookbook. It is chock full of tidbits for every month of the year. It was privately printed in San Francisco in 1935. It contains 1,115 interesting menus and so much more...
So....this is what I am going to do.....in between making some of the satisfying salads, I am going to try some recipes from this book.
Modern, I am not......finding these books after all of these years....has excited me to try cooking for the first time. I'm luvin' reading some of these treasures from the past. So stay tuned....
